Hi there! Welcome to LEAF Art + Academics!
Here, art becomes another way to work through what you’re learning. We connect an academic idea with a creative project so your Creative can research, explore, make decisions, and understand the subject in a more tangible way.
For a middle school Creative studying ecosystems, that might mean exploring the relationships within a local habitat through painting, fiber, sculpture, or mixed media, using the creative process to investigate how changes to one part of an ecosystem affect the whole.
For a high school Creative studying chemistry, that might mean investigating pigments, pH, oxidation, or material reactions and using those discoveries to inform an original work of art.
The goal isn’t to add art to an academic subject. It’s to use creating as part of the learning itself.
â
Personally designed for Creatives who want to:
-

-
Use art to understand academic concepts
-

-

How Art + Academics Works
1. We start with a consultation.
We’ll talk about what your Creative is learning, what they want to better understand or explore further, and where art making could support that learning.
â
2. We co-create their Learning + Creating Plan.
We’ll connect the subject matter, research, creative process, and project possibilities into a personalized 4 or 6 session plan.
â
3. They learn by creating.
Your Creative comes to LEAF for dedicated studio sessions with the time, materials, space, and guidance to research, experiment, make, and continue learning through their project.
â
4. We reflect and share.
Throughout the experience, your Creative receives feedback, talks through their thinking, makes adjustments, and shares what they’ve created and learned.
â
Tell us about your Creative.
Complete the form below to share what they’re learning, what they’re interested in exploring, and how Art + Academics could support their learning through creating.
